Lassen County, California
Deed state
County office: Treasurer / Tax Collector
If it is your own property
In many states the property can be redeemed by paying what is owed — in some states even after a sale — and payment plans may be available. The rules and the deadlines are set by statute and they are short: consult the statute and the county office named here about where you actually stand.
The sale, stage by stage
Tax-defaulted property sale
California statute authorizes the county tax collector to sell tax-defaulted property itself at public auction once the statutory default period has run (Rev. & Tax. Code §§ 3691, 3692). An owner’s right to redeem typically ends as the sale begins (§ 3707) — which is why acting before the sale matters most.
Treasurer / Tax Collector — the county’s own page for this sale.
The county’s own page is the place to look for when the next sale is scheduled.
Everything above links out to the government source; the county’s own page is the current word.
